We are George and Sunny, and Spooky Competitions is ours. There is no big company behind it and no marketing department — just the two of us.

The day job is plastering and rendering. We work our bollocks off at it, all day, every day, and Sunny is on the wall next to me for every hour of it, so nobody here is frightened of hard work. But there is only so long you can throw pink stuff at a wall before it starts to get a bit boring. 😂

So we thought we would build something we would actually enjoy. George is Bedworth born and bred, Sunny is from West Brom, and between us we know plenty of people who could do with a bit of good news.

It is going alright, too. At the time of writing we have given away over £40,000 and made a lot of people winners — and we would love to make that number look small one day.

What we are really trying to build

A community, more than a website. We would love to give loads of money away, because honestly it would feel amazing to do it — and if we can help a few people along the way, even better.

It is not all through a screen, either. We run games nights and quizzes in pubs for Spooky Competitions, because some things are just better in a room full of people.

Helping a few people along the way

Every single ticket sold on this site — not just the winning ones — puts a penny into the Kind Spirits Fund. We put £50 in at the start of every month and the whole lot goes out at the end of it, to a person or a family rather than an organisation. Anyone with an account can nominate anybody, including themselves, and it does not matter whether you have ever spent a penny with us.

There is a weekly free player prize pot too, which you are entered into automatically just by playing.

How we run it

Straight, is the short answer. Every competition has a free entry route, draws are done by an independent random number generator and the results are published, and we will never extend a competition because it has not sold well.
